History of Kerzner International

Kerzner International Holdings Limited, through its subsidiaries, is a leading international developer and operator of destination resorts, casinos and luxury hotels. Kerzner International is named after its founder and chairman, Solomon "Sol" Kerzner, who developed South Africa’s Sun City Resort and prides himself on "blowing away the customer."

Kerzner’s philosophy revolves around attention to detail and a unique service ethic to create a richly layered and authentic experience tailored to reflect the style and ambience of each resort. Countless accolades attest to the success of Kerzner's approach. The company has two flagship brands, Atlantis and One&Only. The Atlantis brand is made up of two properties, the largest of which is Atlantis, Paradise Island, a 3,400-room ocean-themed destination resort in The Bahamas. Since acquiring the property in 1994, Kerzner has invested over a billion dollars to create a unique destination that caters to multiple segments within the resort and casino gaming markets. Kerzner extended its Atlantis brand globally with the development of Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, a 1,500-room water-themed resort, which opened in late 2008 on Palm Island in Dubai.

Kerzner also owns and operates seven of the top-rated luxury resort properties in the world, under the One&Only brand, which are located in the Bahamas, Mexico, Mauritius, the Maldives, South Africa and Dubai.

In addition, Kerzner opened Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco in 2009, adding another destination resort and casino property to its portfolio.

Kerzner operates a number of global sales offices, along with a variety of support functions out of its Plantation, Florida office, including human resources, marketing, IT, sales, finance, development and a call center.
