George started his career as a hotel front desk clerk in South Africa, a role that allowed him to discover his true passion for the tourism and hotel industry. He quickly rose through the ranks of the hospitality business, in South Africa. Later he moved to the United States, eventually finding his home with the Kerzner family of resorts, where he now excels as President and Managing Director over Kerzner International Bahamas.

In 1998, Serge worked as General Manager of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, where he led the resort to win a number of industry awards including Conde Nast Traveller, World Traveler and Business Traveler. After a successful career in this position, Serge then moved to the Madinat Jumeirah where he was responsible for the successful opening of the resort, remaining at the Madinat as General Manager until 2006. Serge led the Madinat to win multiple hospitality awards, including the Leading Resort for the Middle East and Dubai as well as the Leading Conference Hotel by the World Travel Awards. He then progressed into a regional role as Senior Vice President, overseeing Jumeirah’s development in the Asia Pacific region.
